Yvonne Losos de Muñiz wins the Grand
Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle at the 2004 Ox Ridge CDI***
Yvonne scored her first-ever Grand Prix wins
at a CDI*** event during the Ox Ridge Summer Dressage CDI*** in
Darien, Connecticut, which took place the weekend of August 20-22.
The dressage show, a classic in the summer dressage events in the
United States, provided an outstanding setting for a winning performace
by Rittersport Las Marismas, a 12 year old Westfalian gelding by
Royal Angelo.
In the Grand Prix, and with an international panel of “O”
and “I” judges from Canada, Germany and the United States,
Yvonne and Rittersport secured first place with a 62.75%, ahead
of Chris Hickey and Paige Finnegan, both from the United States.
In the Grand Prix Freestyle the pair repeated their winning performance
with a score of 66%.
With these wins Yvonne becomes the first rider from the Dominican
Republic, in any FEI discipline, to ever win an international-level
event at the highest level.
