Las Marismas rider Diana Ramos new member of FEI Bureau
Diana Ramos with H.R.H. Doña
Pilar de Borbon and H.R.H. Prince Philip, actual and past
FEI presidents. |
Las Marismas team rider Diana
Ramos Baez was elected for a four-year term as President of FEI
Group V during the recently held FEI General Assembly in London,
England. As such, she automatically becomes a member of the FEI
Bureau, the governing body of the international organization that
regulates equestrian sport worldwide.
Diana received the support and vote of 12 from the 13 countries
that make up Group V, including countries such as Mexico, Colombia,
Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Guatemala. The overwhelming support was
based on her experience as one of the main organizers of the 2003
Pan American Games held in Santo Domingo, and also due to the fact
that she is an active rider, having represented her country internationally
in the 2002 Central American Games where she earned the Team Bronze
and also in the 2003 Pan American Games where the Dominican Republic
team was fourth.
Besides being selected to the presidency of Group V and also to
the FEI Bureau, Diana was also elected as member of the Executive
Committee of the Pan-American Confederation of Equestrian Sports
(PAEC), which includes countries from all over the Americas.
Las Marismas is extremely proud of Diana’s new designations,
which recognize her work and dedication in the sport for many years,
and we are confident that she will bring numerous benefits to the
sport due to her outstanding qualities as a leader.
